Leyland 680 Start in Freezing Weather

Engine No.1 of Class 101 M51188, a Leyland 680, struggles but eventually manages to start on a very cold winters morning in December 2009. The temperature was below freezing and there was lying snow on the ground in the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway's Wirksworth Yard.

yeah and rev the bollocks out of a cold diesel engine, that will do it a world of good (NOT!)

i believe is a 4 stroke has a grate sound.

They have to start them on full throttle. then once it is slightly warm then they put them down to idle
