  • He was top notch and I was so proud to have him as a friend and dobro teacher. I have a few videos on youtube of myself and Charlie Collins I'm playing os's old dobro ( not as pretty as he did though). I learned so many wonderful songs from him and he never would take a dime for teaching me. I stayed all night with him and Euneta and they made me feel like family. I miss him alot. Thanks os and thanks for posting this great clip !!

  • This is the kind of response that makes it all worth while. Thank you so much for sharing a little of your personal relationship with os.

  • When Oswald goes way high up on the neck at one point - I've always said he goes into the "Os-Zone" which to me is the land beyond the frets. In his A tuning the last fully fretted note he has is an E at the 19th fret. The high A he hits would be at the 24th fret if you had frets that went that far-so you have to know where you are going and what to do when you get there-Os always did.

  • Thanks so much for posting this video. I watch it over and over. Can anyone tell me the date of this video? Also, who is the fiddle player, and is he the same guy that's in the video of Os and Mac Wiseman, "Carry Me Back to the Mountains"? and finally I can't find any info about the song "End of the World" being played here. Does anyone know anything about it?

    Thanks so much

  • Will never get any better than Him and Josh Graves. Thx for posting. They made it look easy!!!!d

  • The Angles in Heaven all stand aside and wait for O to finish before continuing on. The best.

  • hi brilliant music thumbs up .Noel

  • @dadsgirl0423 Of course he did, but the dobro make his music special. You always knew it was Roy doing Wabash Cannonball as soon as you heard the dobro notes.

  • @freddodaw NOW WAIT A MINUTE, OSWALD WAS GOOD IN HIS OWN RIGHT BUT HE DID NOT MAKE ROY SOUND GOOD. ROY ACUFF HAS TALENT ALL OF HIS OWN.

  • OLD OZ FORGOT MORE THAN THESE SO CALLED STARS WILL EVER KNOW. GOD BLESS YOU OZ. WE LOVE YOU.

  • I remember in the 1990s,I went to an Opry Birthday autograph session.I wanted to meet Os,and as I stood in line, for over a Hour,I could see him,at the table. When I neared the table,he got up,and was wisked away by a young lady,& was using a cane.I stepped out of line,& asked if I could get a picture with him.The lady asked if he felt like it,& he obliged me. What a Legend & a Sound.

  • I sure miss hearing Os,his jokes, and especially his Dobro sound, when I listen to the Opry,on the radio. We were fortunate to have Os & Roy Acuff,as long as we did,in the Country Music World.

  • oz had some top shelf help on this one for sure, cant get no better.
