Respectfully, the problem right now is that they [the government] are trying to do it in house, with 'what they got,' instead of 'the best of the best' [read: brightest coding minds in the US] and that is only causing multiple layers of bandaid cures to go on these sites, making the 'mess' a very tangled disaster that will be extremely difficult to untangle later. LOVE this concept and could not agree more.

@Josemedeiros Respectfully, that is exactly why they are looking for the 'cream of the crop' ~ super serious coders know exactly what to do to ensure these checks and balances are in place. If we inject the talent of the brightest minds in coding to this cause now, we will save a ton of time later.

I am not a coder, and will never have such an interest, but I do know Microsoft Server Technologies fairly well, and checks and balances must be in place, rather then taking risks and having back doors or bad password security in place, in favor of easy access. Nothing beats a hand written letter to your representatives with a real signature, it carries a lot more weight then an email, that can easily be impostered to make some one look bad, or to over whelm them to vote for an issue.
