The WTC had many core support columes which ran down the center of the building serveral flores underground. There are also serveral different interviews from prior to 9/11 of the people who were responsible for building the complex stating that is could withstand the impact of a plane. @J801506 yes i was in #7. Read some news papers from the late 60's. Everyone was wondering then how these towers would hold up in a bad fire. They used 30% less steel while building these things. They used fire proffing that fell off if it rained. They wernt these awesome structures you say they were. They put the columes on the outside to save inner space.
