Hi, did you know it is Speech and Language Therapy Awareness Day in New Zealand on the 28th August 2009. Speech therapists do loads of important work with adults and children, including working with speech and language disorders, autism, hearing impairment and stroke. Take a look at our icommunicate video to give you an idea of what a speech and language therapist actually does.
As a young child my body went into shock and my vocal abilities were completely shut down. For almost 10 years multiple therapists worked with me, and if it hadn't been for them
I wouldn't be able to talk now. I feel like this may be a great career for me because I have been to those places and I know how desperately wanted help is. This career may finally be my chance to give back and makeup for those lost years.

I thought it was going to be some boring old post, but it really compensated for my time.
