The road between Grundarfjörður and Stykkishólmur . At Grundarfjörður
there is fishing and trading center since the 18th century, the place is named after the fjord Grundarfjörður, the population is about 850. A French fishermen built a church and several houses in the town.
Then to Stykkishólmur take the road no. 54 and then 58, the distance is just 45 km, several recommendations for spending the day in the area: Climbing mountain Kirkjufell near by Grundarfjörður and driving to Stykkishólmur in the evening. Taking some sightseeing walks on the way to Stykkishólmur, the lava field Berserkjahhraun
then taking a boat trip form Stykkishólmur harbor and exploring the beautiful fjord Breiðafjörður with its large number of islands, fantastic bird life and options for whale watching or sea angling trips
