drinking a German Beer is part of any trip to Germany. Here we are at te Ernst August Brauhaus in Hannover, Germany enjoying some tasty German fair and discussing some of the vocab you will need to get the right beer where ever you are in Germany. Bier - beer, Helles - light beer (in color not calories), Dunkles/Alt - dark beer, grosses - big, kleines - small, Sekt - sparkling wine, Wein - wine, Rotwein - red win, Weisswein - white whine, Gluehwein - hot wine, Prost - cheers, then there are beers especially from certain parts and cities in Germany. Alt Beer is from Duesseldorf, Kolsch is from Cologne. And remember buy the "city" beer from whatever city you are in, as that will be the freshest beer and most popular. And if you get to Bamberg, have my favorite "Rauchbier" or smoked beer. It tastes like BACON!!!

: This video is great for American tourists who plan on travelling to Germany and are not familiar with the language or the main different types of drinks available and how it applies to the German culture. This ranges from various types and sizes of beer and wine to being able to order a drink with ease. This video also encompasses some basic cultural aspects that every German abides by when drinking amongst one another. American tourists should be able to pick up on these cultural cues to avoid looking like an "ugly" American. This video was very helpful thanks again for posting it!

  • Hey nice! My native city of Hannover!

  • @WeirdHerb Fun town. Have a few friends from there. Always have a good time there. Glad I can "represent" Hannover for you :) Thanks for watching and commenting! please subscribe!

  • Sorry, but that doesn't cut it, German beer is too complicated for a five-minute video. For example, there are at least four major types of "light" beer, and almost every town has its own.

  • @yvranx Gee... and the next time someone watches a three hour youtube documentary I will be sure to give you a call ;)

Hey its just a bit for tourists to get them started... baby steps my friend... baby steps ;) Thanks for watching and commenting!
