God is just a simulation

Religion is the first form of control. Depending on where you were born on this beautiful blue ball of ours would influence your beliefs. I for one grew up in a non-religious environment. That is not to say that religion was not all around me. We said the lords prayer, we were taught the stories from the bible in the first few grades - when we were very impressionable. But with the recent Fort Hood shooting, people executing doctors who perform abortions, people protesting Gay rights, people going nuts for their Gods. We need to realize that this is all just made up, a simulation if you will. I think it is high time we question why we believe what we believe. Why do we think that when we die if we have been good we go to heaven, why is it that we believe some will go to hell. Do you honestly think you will suffer after your life? Do you think our beliefs of what comes after affect the here and now? I do, so did the guy who killed a bunch of innocent people in Texas too. So does the guy holding the Bible telling University students that they are all going to hell. So does the guy who kills a doctor who performs abortions, so does George W. Bush who thinks God had chosen him to be president. If everything is God's will, then all events good and bad are our own faults for not accepting Jesus? So, with out going into End Times, how does religion affect peoples choices?

@factsfair There is difference in the "know" and "faith". I don't require faith in the chair I last sit in, I know the chair and the worlds gravity enough to understand how it is structured to sit on it. I know that the last food I ate helped me on my diet routine. The sun and how our body works doesn't require faith, it's reality therefore it IS! Which is part of the "know". Now "believing" in a creator and all requires faith, because it is not in the realm of the "know". Be educated

@e2kx it's all about faith. did you have faith in the last chair you sat on? the last food you ate? put a little faith in the fact that the sun comes up every morning & you can still take a breath. be grateful for what is still good in your life, then take the "worst case scenario" to the Creator of it all, & you'll see a solution pops into your mind after all! yeah! of course! it's what happened when God materialized down here as Jesus...whose name means "help" or "rescue!" it can all be fixed!
