A CW (Morse Code) Beacon with the letters "MO" (possibly a Pirate Beacon) is received on the verified frequency of 4077.33 kHz (seen varying with temperature from .31 up to .38) on shortwave. This was received on Icom IC-756PROII receiver using an 80 Meter dipole antenna in late 2008.
Continued monitoring of this beacon seems to indicate it may be solar powered as during prolonged periods of overcast it 'goes away' after the battery depletes.
Update: Still being heard as of 12-29-2008 just past noon 12:45 PM local (18:45 GMT).

I have no expertise regarding these unlicensed Beacons. Evidently many seem to cluster around the 4 mHz Band. Besides Morse Letter I.D. ; Evidently, many of them preform "tricks" such as: send wind speed and temperature in Morse and have strange names such as: "Inyo Whooper". Actually, do perform a propagation service. Are many legal ones, including International Beacon Project. I have heard the Beacon Atop the UN Building in New York down to 10 Watts in Califirnia- Transmitts Morse Callsign
