Direct Action to Stop War, Global Exchange, and Communities for the Environment held a protest at the Chevron Building to bring attention to Chevron's support of the Iraq war and privatizing Iraq's oil.
Protestors locked down the building, keeping employees from entering the building. Police came en force and arrested maybe a dozen, but a huge snake march came around with the Brass Liberation Orchestra to lend support.
It was epic.
Awesome! If, by your logic, Chevron were to pull out of all the countries you say they are profiteering from. Where would our energy come from? Americans are quick to complain but not offer any solutions whatsoever. We need energy to continue with the lifestyles that everyone has become accustomed to. Until that mentality changes and we stop demanding an almost undeliverable amount of energy, we need companies like Chevron to provide it.
