a poem a wrote a long while ago

words...

I can remember clearly
a world that never existed
when, in the twilight hour,
Thud
Slam
Smash
Terror
a child's terror
terror of the sound against my wall
laying limp forming pictures of horror

And in the morning
all was well
Was I dreaming?
Yet dreaming with wide open eyes

Now much older
I am aware
and with this understanding
I am set free

But that child still dwells within me
his blood courses through my veins
bubbling under the surface
his world swirls in the air that fills my lungs

A world that never existed

And I find it hard to sleep
