Slaid Cleaves has written the music to a Woody Guthrie poem or lyrics, called "This Morning I Was Born Again." Ray Wiley Hubbard recorded it, and I love that so much. But it is inaccessible on the internet, sadly. I hope that, if Mr. Cleaves is blocking it under copyright, that this would somehow get resolved. It is a redemptive poem by Woody, and a definitive tune by Slaid, and Ray Wiley sings the hell out of it. Please let the music spread! Peace.

I enjoy all of Slaid's songs as I'm discovering them; however, I'm not sure I fully can appreciate his philosophy in this song. I can relate to finding God in nature, but I am also not afraid of crossing over to that which I trust is greater. Albeit, I'm not in any hurry today and will appreciate the entire journey and if that is where our philosophy meets so be it.

" I do not want your mansions." I love it.

Somewhere, both Woody Guthrie and Scotty Moore are smiling at this lovely fusion of American Primitive and rockabilly.

Though few can touch woody. I can't believe I immediately assumed Slaid did it. *Hangs head in shame*

Yes, they both have a way with words, you're right.

Didn't know that. I knew woody had a way with words. And Slaid has a way with words (listen to broke down, or hear him talk at his performances)

You mean Woody Guthrie has a way with words? He wrote it but never recorded it.

One of my favorite gospel songs. True it's message goes against most gospel songs. Slaid has a way with words.
