Dead Flowers - Slouch Factor 9 (1994)

Mellow space tune from this somewhat forgotten uk band off the album 'Altered State Circus'.

Newcastle's Dead Flowers spent the better part of a decade playing the clubs & festivals, developing a hard-won reputation as a solid, energetic and above all psychedelic outfit. Lyrically tripped-out, with Ferank Manseed's poetic raps, and pushed into overdrive with grungy overloaded guitar, their 2nd and 3rd albums "Moontan" and "Altered State Circus" are a testament to one of the most creative and inventive bands of the 80s & 90s. Sadly they've now split, but their releases exude a stoned-awareness most bands would die for.

looking for more/less of this style >> more instrumental syd barrett freak out psychedlic wah guitars and melo synth stuff really off time funk. Stuff you hear in non trendy coffee shops.

Thanks for this. It's good to get to hear some of this album at last. It sounds a bit softer than the previous ones, which I remember had some powerful psych guitar and fine vocals. Pity they are so rare now.
