I recognise that noise...and that bodystyle.
Not that bus precisely, but H644ACK I know well, still is up in Aberdeen, great running bus - though it really could do with an extra gear on the main road. *think* we've got H610ACK as well. Memory's failing me there though!

How is it that older B10 sound better than the newer ones regardless of gearbox? Older one have the volvo THD engine fitted that often gets more whine out of the gearbox than the D10 examples where they don't scream out as much. The ZF gearbox was screaming out more than a newer B10BLE model it applies to to voith gearboxes too.

I agree, the older Volvo's are more clunky, jaggass has a good clunky voith example, I think that is a H-reg in Sheffield.

It is an early version of B10M bus, I think they were more commonly known as Citybus, but yes Alexander body.
