  • what a beautiful aircraft

  • Quite a spacious cockpit in the old Victor.

  • this and the vulcan are the best planes the RAF have ever operated and RAF Marham is the best base in the RAF.

  • Its grandpa of survulance approach :)

  • That's not a PAR, it is an SRA (or "PAR azimuth only"). A Par would have the controller giving "on glidepath" etc, rather than heights passing.

  • @eezy1972 And GCA is Ground Control Approach

  • Takes me back to my time on Victor K1s at Marham. As a nav radar I could also talk the aircraft down using the aircraft's own radar. Wasnt as accurate as this though. That was a good PAR by the way!

  • thats one mean mother! love it!

  • ILS is Instrument Landing System which guides the pilot onto the correct course for a safe landing on the runway by two needles in the cockpit which have to cross in the middle to be on the correct course. But this video nicely shows a military ground controller 'talking down' the aircraft using PAR (Precision Approach Radar).

  • Sorry, what is ILS ?
