Matt Watson and his team have captured on film what is arguably the greatest of all big game fish; a leaping Black Marlin is one of the most spectacular sights in fishing..... and when they get up to over 1000 pounds, they really are a sight to behold... Check out the underwater footage and see just how fast these things can move!!

  • How long was that fight? I'm going after them this weekend, but don't expect to even see a grander. I'll be happy with a juvenile that goes 30 kilo!

  • @Vigis The fight took about an hour all up, best of luck out there mate!

  • Its a shame the giant shark didn't eat these murderous cowards. Grow your own or migrate to Mars where you belong.

  • @jason2012ification Do the global gene pool a favour and please don't have any kids.

  • How dangerous is it to jump in the water while one of these is hooked on a line to get some underwater footage? Normal dangerous or crazy dangerous?

  • @kidwiz91 'Normal' dangerous most of the time, but add in a bit of blood from the hooked fish giving out distress signals to a pack of hungry sharks and it soon escalates into 'crazy' territory...

Unconditional emotional attachment to charismatic megafauna - a trait common amongst those who are impressed by double rainbows. If you paid attention, you'd realise that your beloved Tiger Sharks actually came out of things much better off than the Black Marlin did.

  • @conliffe0 Thanks 'conliffe0'. I think what you're describing is called Spearfishing, and personally, I think that getting out there and spearing a Marlin is a great idea for an episode. Thanks for the suggestion, keep the ideas rolling in mate!
