I'd been playing acoustic guitar in an average way for some time. Then I heard Albert's solo on Luxury Liner in 1976 and it was like watching colour TV for the first time, I ran out and bought a Telecaster, practised Albert licks till my fingers bled and developed a whole new love affair with the instrument. He's has inspired me for 25 years. Incredibly, he just gets better and better.

Before he developed the quintessentially country style, with Head Hands and Feet he used a mellow almost Marvin tone and constructed a fabulous melodic solo on Song for Suzie
