It was a summer evening, and the orange sun hung low in the dusky sky. My mother was with her best friends, taking a break from her newly started career. She had just recieved the job as an intern at an important firm and they were out celebrating. My father spotted her from across the dancefloor and somehow had the nerve to ask her to dance. He was an executive at a rival firm, and that made their relationship fiery. Meeting each other in board room conferances, giving each other sexy messages, which were completely oblivious to their co-workers. It sounded perfect. Then they had me. They hadn't planned on having a child so young, but once my mother fell pregnant, they both decided to marry. A year away from the office made my mom depressed and she soon forgot all about the drive and competition. She began hating work and switched jobs frequently. My father was stuck in a rut, needing to supply for our family. His job paid alot of money so we would always be safe, but he hated everyday. I guess having each other in their work life gave them passion, but when I arrived I ruined everything. Maybe I'm to blame.

Now my father was sleeping with somebody else, moving out, falling out of love with my mom. Could I save their relationship?

"You think maybe, it's my fault?" I said, unsure.
"Classic." Riley muttered.
"What?" I asked.
"Every child blames themself." she stated.
"But maybe this time it is my fault." I replied, emphasizing is.
"Trust me. No child is to blame for parents marriages." Hayley confirmed.

I paused to think about the situation.

"I think I can save their marriage." I said, smiling.
"How?" Riley asked, confused.
"Their marriage was perfect when they had passion and drive." I started. "If my mom can forgive my father then maybe, just maybe, we can re-create the passion."
"How would we do that?" Hayley said.
"I'm not sure yet. But their has gotta be a way." I stated.

Hayley's POV

I had the worst wake-up call. Carson burst into my room, stressing over her parents. She usually stressed about them but in a different way. Such as; I'm grounded for staying out past curfew or, I'm cut off from allowance until my room is clean. Not her father having an affair.

"What?" I asked, shocked.

Riley came shuffling into the room, dressed in a white fluffy robe and slippers. She perched on the bed next to Carson, listening to her ranting.

"He's sleeping with some secretary and apparently he doesn't 'love my mom anymore'." she said, using quotation marks.
"What's gonna happen?" Riley whispered.
"I'm not sure." Carson answered.

Then she drifted away into a daydream. This girl was seriously away with the fairies sometimes. When she finally returned to planet Earth she began doubting herself.

"You think maybe, it's my fault?" She offered.
"Classic." Riley mumbled.
"What?"
"Every child blames themself." she stated, acting as an expert.
"But maybe this time it is my fault." Carson said.
"Trust me. No child is to blame for parents marriages." I confirmed, hidden meaning thick in my tone.

We all paused to think of the situation. Should I come clean about my own parents marriage. Riley thinks dad died when we were younger, and we moved to California to start over from the memories. She was so young she doesn't remember him.

"I think I can save their marriage." Carson said, a small smile filling her face.
"How?" Riley asked, confused.
"Their marriage was perfect when they had passion and drive." she started. "If my mom can forgive my father then maybe, just maybe, we can re-create the passion."
"How would we do that?" I asked, already doubting her master plan.
"I'm not sure yet. But their has gotta be a way." she confirmed.

Creating passion did not sound easy. What would we do? Lock them in a room, play make-out music, and give them a stack of condoms! AN: LMAO. I'm pretty sure parents problems were not as easy to fix, especially when one of them was having an affair. I didn't want to crush Carson's hope. The boys wouldn't be back for a month and her birthday was next week. She needed some good news on top of all this crap.

"If there's a way, we'll find it." I stated, giving Carson a re-assuring smile.
