1950 Lister D-Type stationary engine.
1.5 HP @ 700 rpm
Spec 28DH

This is in as aquired condition. I cleaned out the sump and the carb, rebuilt the magneto (no new parts), put a drop of fresh fuel in her and away she went. I have another one, a 2hp model (spec 26D2H) in pieces at the moment. I will add film of it restored before long................. hopefully.

  • do you get bad flooding problems with your lister i get loads can you help meplease

  • Check that the float in the carb isn't leaking. Other than that all you can do is adjust the screw needle by removing the limit screws and screwing it down a bit more.

  • How do you get them to runthat sweet, even when hot mine will at least eight cycle most of the time of load.

  • Check the timing and carburettor settings. They should run better under load. If it's running under no load try retarding the timing to about 10deg BTDC.

  • Great job, that things runnin like a wee mouse chawin paper

  • i get evil stares every time i drive to omah with my 70 LTD

  • Iv'e solved the problem now, bought a new plug and it's now sweet as a nut!

  • I have a 1950 Ferguson TEC 20 with a P3 engine. We used to run it on red till we started rallying it. So our 1956 DB 25D used it up running around the field. Its annoying because when the law came out my dad had just purchashed 100 litres of the stuff.

  • Ok thanks, I thinkthen I will get a pulley for it and run it under load, more preferable to messing with the timing!

If I do though i will let you know the result.

  • I like the camera angles.

By the way, what is everyone on about this tax of Mr Browns? I'm not very informed on these things.
