my husband is writing a Korean poem.

별에 못을 박다

어렸을 때 나는ㄴ
별들이 누군가 못을 박았던
흔적이 아닐까 하고
생각했었다

별들이 못구멍이라면
그건 누군가
아픔을 걸었던
자리겠지

  • does korean still use hanja

  • big part of korean words are from hanja but we don't often actually write hanja characters together, we just use the korean sound and letter of hanja in the sentences. some books or documents can still write hanja along with korean.

  • can you tell or show me why?

There are many different versions of 'ㅅ' as you might know. Is my 'ㅅ' in the video hard to recognize?

  • by the way, the person who is writing is my husband.

  • This one I made with my digital camera and some bad ones I made with web-camera. That's why you thought I got a better camera.

  • @HanWriting For your writing to look it's best, you should follow the proper stroke order for each letter. It just looks neater and more readable. :) And it's also how most native Korean write, so if you want your writing to look more Korean-y, stroke order is a must! :D

  • This is beautiful! Your husband writes wonderfully!

    감사 합니다!

  • my friend writes ㄷ like your husband but i personally find it hard to understand. i feel it looks like ㄹ. when i write quickly or casually, my ㄷ resembles a 'c'. and my ㄹ resembles a backwards 's'

  • @emptywords196 haha this one if the few things that i can read in korean :P

  • I'm fascinated by handwriting, as well as other languages. Thankyou for uploading this.

  • Nice writting, Hangul is so beautiful! I even use it in my own created language!

  • @AFNYOAQIS North uses Hanja but South no more except in books and documents as mentioned before

  • is it ok to write 'ㄹ' in one smooth stroke like 'S'?

    'ㄷ' like 'C'?

    and so on for others?

  • so very neat.
