This is just the beginning of the list of things you should have ready for a disaster such as an earthquake. Watching the video will give you some ideas to get started, but it is not a replacement for attending the classes.

Attend free NERT training for a complete checklist of items for your family.

http://www.sfgov.org/sffdnert

Call NERT at (415) 970-2024 to register.

To arrange classes in Cantonese or Spanish, call (415) 970-2022.

Neighborhood Emergency Response Team training is free for all residents of San Francisco.

  • this was alot of help for my assignment

  • @MetaGrrrl lt said PLAIN water

  • Shouldn't that bleach illustration show unscented bleach?

Great tip from more recent NERT training: write the proportions for purifying water using bleach directly on an unopened bleach bottle. Remember: bleach does lose potency over time, so rotate your emergency bottle periodically (e.g. when you empty one you use day-to-day).

  • that is true!!! ever since KATRINA they have said CAN YOU SURVIVE FOR SEVEN DAYS? i, too am a CERT member.

  • i am a member of CERT since 2002 as of 2008 the rule is now 7 day of supplies per person
