Sony Cyber-Shot W380 - 720p HD Water Reflection2 Test & Honest Review

Directly out of the camera, no edtiting.
Original video format : Mp4 (mpeg-4).
Settings in this video:
- 720p HD ("fine" option, from the camera - the highest quality, besize "standard" and "vga" options) ;
- Everything on "auto" mode (Autofocus, Wb, etc.) ,
-30 fps, as the model supports.
Day light conditons.

A little review...

Something is for sure: W380 night view is poor, in my opinion. And, usually, most of the digital foto cameras are poor in night/low light recording (of course, at video recording, generally) because they are meant for foto-shooting and not video-shooting, so do not expect to much (from
any foto-cameras out there, with very very few exceptions), regarding this aspect.
During the day, at natural sun light, the clips do "perform" a lot better, in fact, quite good, with this model.
The 1080i/p Full HD version (from WX7, etc.) have more image (photo/video) quality, then the Standard 720p HD's series, as I've seen on the internet - I've never really tested a camera with 1080 Hd (only verified it a little bit at the Sony store).

Thing is: if you want video performance, prior to foto-shooting, you might wanna go with a analog/digital foto camera. Or if you want to go video shooting and less fotography, then you might consider buying a specialized video recorder (cam corder, etc.). If you're just want to take photos here and there, "click" the flowers, skies, your friends, different ocasions, etc... then a foto-camera like this one (not reffering at this particular model or brand, but the money category) can do good (not "exceptional"). If you're planning to become more then a simple foto amateur and dream to expose your photos at a vernisage one day, then forget about this category of digital foto-cameras. I know, maybe some of your friends has told you that you should start from the bottom (so, buy a cheap model), and afterwards buy better stuff and only after that become more "pro". In my opinion, this is a bad idea. Why? Because, if you'll buy a cheap camera and have serious big dreams, then the cheap model will spoil all you fun and satisfaction of making photos - because, cheap models, and even the Sony from this channel, is far from a very good camera. Save some money, wait a while longer, do a lot of research and don't 100% trust the forums and reviews out there, because there are a lot of unexperienced people (I am not saying I am one) that do not know and request to much regarding their camera and a lot of "friendly" merchants who, yes, you've figured it out: they want ching-ching $$$ and are willing to say anything to sell products - very, very few will tell you an honest opinion.

As regards to the W380, in conclusion, I can say that it is a fine digital camera, that can take nice day-light pictures, and with wich I can also shoot nice videos, for fun or hobby.
