@fivealive2 Ali has changed from being with the Nation of Islam to being a Sunni Muslim. It wasn't a waste of time. It was growth. There were many, no matter what religion or race they were, who were against the war. There were many who felt that Blacks were dying here and did not have to die abroad for a country that did not respect Black people, let alone a Black veteran. Ask those who respect and love him because he fought for what he believed in whether this was a waste of time.

Its no secret the Nation of Islam, an american cult, manipulated and exploited young Muhammad Ali. How sad is it to watch these clips of young intelligent mind blinded by petty pious beliefs... his devotion and time could have been spent on something far great than NOI.

i have much respect for ali and what he stood for in his time, however its ironic he refused to be drafted as a muslim conscientious objector! Quran quite literally sanctions violence, just like that other holy book the bible. ali had reverence for malcolm x but betrayed him caused by silly religious politics. the world would be a better place without religion. Ali would still been the greatest whether he was muslim or not.
