At 1:47 it is very obvious that he misses one note. He plays an f instead of an f#.
In spite of that the performance is quite all right.

The original commentor was JOKING. He was parodying haters of 20th+ century disonnant music, lol. I agree with your comment nonetheless.

The beginning sounds like a Dream Theater song played on piano, lol. Especially around 00:25 - 00:50

You're right, Idil Biret plays much better. He's just trying to see how fast he can play it...

wow. sorry guys but you clearly don't understand what is happening. He isn't just playing dissonant notes, he is dropping notes out of one or the other hand (left first, then right) so he is essentially playing a different time signature is each hand. Incredibly difficult to do, hence why it is on the RCM grade ten level. If you think that some hack musician with no music education or much piano experience can do it (or improve something similar), you must be Mozart.

Sorry for my skepticism, but you would have to be the greatest pianist who ever lived, to randomly improvise something of equal value to Ligeti's first etude...

01:07 should be a F sharp not G, it sounds really weird >.>
I improvised randomly on the piano yesterday, I believe it sounded exactly like this piece
