I just wanted to say that I've met survivors of this exodus. They are ethnic Macedonians from Greece, who still speak Macedonian. The family I met, lives in Canada now, but the children were placed in an orphanage in Poland. They didn't know that their parents were also alive (in Romania) until the early 60's.

They all eventually reunited in Canada.

And no, not all of them had Slavic-sounding names. Most would be indistinguishable from ethnic Greeks, except for their language, and origin.

tzakos1982 '. obviously we're not 'serbianised bulgars'. do your research before you write out the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear about macedonia. today, greeks are living on macedonian soil, however they still deny it and dont acknowledge the facts. i suggest that you have look though your family history and you may just find that your ancestors were macedonians. living in denial cant possibly be healthy.
