And I prefer AYAKA's version, the best version of all.
Hayley's is good too.
Charice's? no soul, too pop, too upbeat & lyrics dont make sense.

Having heard both Hayley and Charice, they both sound incredible. Inevitably it comes down to the interpretation each artist gives the song. As usual, Hayley sounds smooth and flowing. There's a feeling of sadness and longing within her voice along with a tincture of reflection. With Charice it sounds similar, though more soulful and personal, but no less passionate. I know I came into the discussion a few months too late but they both sound incredible in their interpretation of this song.

@SLVictoria i think your the racist one here. no one said anything about hayleys skin color besides you. just stop complaining and listen to the music, whichever version you want to.

Charice's version is not better, and i don't like hayley more because she's white, and idc if she is white, asian, black, whatever, i just think hayley SOUNDS better. and your just trying to use the race card so that u can say hayley has some advantage or something (well besides the fact that she's a better singer of which u won't admit)

Charice version is better. You need range to sing this song, not pretty and plain likes this version. People need to stop judging others on how they look, but for how they are. Just because Hayley is white doesn't mean that she sound better than Charice. If you take Charice voice and put in Hayley Westenra she would have 5 Grammys by now. People are so racist and do want to give other race a chance and this is where we fall as a nation.

Is this the young lady that have gold record in Japan?

@MoneLouie I not that smart here but maybe its a Japanese song translated into English so it kept its original name. Common sense maybe!
one of my favorite songs from ayaka, and Hayley does a nice job covering it in her own way. (Hayley seems to like ayaka's songs.) btw, the title in correct Romaji is "Mikazuki" not "Mikaduki".
