I'm sorry for not completing this video sooner. But, life has a way of getting in the way of things you need to get done.

Here are examples where STRAIGHTNESS is REQUIRED from the woods they are made out of. The arrow and the pool cue stick do not have the benefit of a truss rod. Yet, they will maintain their straightness 360 degrees for their given length. Both will bend, and return to their original straightness because of the proper selection of the woods they are made out of, and the proper methods used in the processing of the woods way BEFORE the wood was even ready to become an arrow or a cue stick.

Consider the amount of cue stick abuse and work it took to produce that WC Fields movie prop from a common maple and rosewood cue stick of the period.

To produce a world class cue stick there is simply no cost cutting that can be done when it comes to selection of the the woods or the wood processing methods involved.

However, it is because of the truss rods used in the necks of musical instruments, that manufactures have taken cost cutting measures passed the point to where we now have the neck problems that were very rare years before these selection and processing methods had been changed or abandoned by their manufacturers.

The x-rays and problem example graphics clearly show what happens when inferior woods are used that can not support the truss rod tension REQUIRED to produce a STRAIGHT neck for a given set of strings used by the player.

Coming soon.

Part 2 - It's ALL about the wood.
Part 3 - You have to filter through the crap to find the truth.
Part 4 - A simple test that prevents broken truss rods.
Part 5 - The only way to make truss rod adjustments.
