Well, this project started not too long ago actually, I was walking through the rain listening to Trist on my Creative Zen (iPod is EVIL, EVIL I tell you) and suddenly I began to contemplate the dreamy nature of the music for the first time to come to the hypothesis that all, of not most DSBM artists are dreamers, maybe the vast majority of all black metal artists are dreamers. But what do dreamy children do? They're afraid that people will know they're dreaming, afraid that people will know their thoughts, so try to like fierce on the outside, maybe that explains why so many are teachers. Commendments to Neige for openly stating to still visit 'fairyland' at times. Most of the time when I write in such contexts, I also always adopt a very cold, eloquent and some-what sinister type of language, I always act like that if I speak to people with whom I am not (yet) intimate enough to talk casual. So I started Lajlia, a depressive black metal project about dreams and them being shattered by the hard reality.

My sister was so amazed by the end result that she pushed me to finally get of my arse with a musical project and try to promote it a little as she feels it's extremely good. I would personally praefer to call it 'accessible, yet original'. Some tracks on the first work are written from the perspective of children, some from the perspective of adults, some from the perspective of males and some from those of females. The tracks here are: 03: Vestiges of Imagination / 06: Vestiges of Transcendence / 08: Twilight Skies

It's also sort of an experiment to see how people will react to dreamy and surreal sounding black ambient, so far it has received quite high acclaim. To provoke a little I've made dream world like cover art. All the graphics in the slideshow are my own creation, the model I've used for the second picture to paint wishes to remain anonymous.

  • Good sound but pretty awkward description, black metal creators don't talk about their sister and their ipod zune and all this nerdy shit, leave the description blank

  • @AMpufnstuf I'm not that much a black metal artist as I'm a soundtrack artist that uses noisy sounds though.

  • this is what emos listen to when they cut their wrists XP

but seriously this is weird. I like it though

  • @clownslayer4235 Hmm, one of the interesting things is that emocore isn't 'sad' or 'depressive' in any way, maybe the lyrics are about some shit like broken relationships, but the music is fucking energetic and jumpy and happy, people jump around on it on concerts, sad music is not to jump around on.

I hardly ever make any lyrics, don't get their point, especially if you're screaming.

  • and i understand your point of view with the lyrics, but, we dont talk about that in a video, this is music, and if your not in the underground metal scene well, do not copy the style, we dont needmore people using the same idea as someone else to edit it.

  • @nageljeuk i agree with AMpufnstuff, he means that the ambient sound like this allready existed, and your not the creator, and it was called Black metal, if you dont like too much about black metal make your own original noisy sounds, believeme it sounds the same as thousands of bands around the world. thing against the you or the project it sounds great, the only things is that, it was called black metal and it uses ambient, atmospheric, dark waves, doom, depressive, suicidal and many many more

  • @AMpufnstuf Now there you put a good argument, it has some logic. Still, If I want to enjoy the atmosphere I just don't look to the description.

  • @vanoverschelde666 But it's true, almost all good black metal has to do with controlling and building an atmosphere, you ruin this whole emperor of death thing by talking about your very normal personal life while creating music that is supposed to be extremely abnormal and expressive

  • @AMpufnstuf Stereotype bullshit

  • man, this chills me to the core... freaky stuff

  • @AmericanApostate I couldn't agree more. I actually study art in University and I find that the only time I feel truly alive is when I'm immersed in my painting/sculpture or my music. It's the curse of trying to balance your emotions and functioning in a collective when you feel isolated and indifferent to the people around you. I've noticed the people who's music I'm most interested in as far as Black metal goes are people who treat it AS art...not just as being "tr00".

  • Interesting, your work seems to border on sound art which is interesting for Black metal especially. Push boundaries where you can, preserve the integrity of your work. I think the theme of what you're expressing is well portrayed.

  • i was always into creative labs products but their plastic bodies just didnt hold up as the metal ipod case does

  • haha agree
