Sanwa makes an arcade video splitter called a VC-J2. In addition to passing through the arcade video signal to the arcade machine, it outputs an s-video signal which can be used for recording.

Cool that's what I have. Do you use a diamond gate?

JLF, balltop. This came standard on a brand new Astro City arcade control panel so I didn't order the exact part, but I think it's a JLF-TP-8. I'm pretty sure all the JLFs feel the same once they're installed though.

Exactly what Sanwa model do you use and do you use a balltop or bat?

I used a Sanwa for this record, but Seimitsu's LS-32 is quite good as well. I got Death GM without learning Sanwa, so you can definitely excel with either. These days I think I like Sanwas better overall, but it's largely preference and neither will hold you back.

What kind of joystick where you using at the time, and would you say the ls-32 is a good joystick for tgm?
