I love this clip. Looks like everyone is having fun. Jo Jones(on drums) one of the greatest drummers in jazz and an original member of the Count Basie Band and Rudy Rutherford (on clarinet) also from Basie's Band do a fine job! If the other members of the Newport Jazz Band had been playing you wouldn't have been able to hear Chuck. If you listen to the whole soundtrack Chuck did other songs with the whole band and they drown Chuck out.

im reading the keith richards book - life - right now. and keith says this backing band tried to sabatoge chuck on this gig. thats why they are laughing and not playing all the time. they tried to f him up when they could have made history. fools
