@ThatcomputerFreek If you put ice on it before you pierce it, it hurts more. The ice tightens the muscles and causes it to be harder to put the needle through, and its more painful. Putting a hot cloth on it loosens the muscles and it goes in a lot easier.

I recommend not piercing your own lip with a safety pin. Use HOT WATER it nums and moistens the tissues so it easier to Stick the needle in and Go from the inside to out not out to inside or it will end up UN straighten. I recommend that for everyone whos going to pierce there lip thats the safest way :)

Be really careful and sure that you really want one. I had three and when I grew up and didn't want them anymore they left scar tissue and lumps in my lip that you can see when i smile.

@despicablepeach You cannot numb your lip before piercing it, duh. That makes the tissue freeze inside the lip thus making it harder to pierce. Don't act like you know what you're talking about, you don't even know how to spell..
