@GhostWalker40 yeah but they were still pretty bad at that time, but that's how sports works, get high draft picks, build around them and BAM you can become a playoff contender in less than 3 years, red wings have been so successful they don't even need to do that but in a few years hopefully not for a while will have to go that plan

@DetIzRed I'm a huge Wings fan and I'll have to admit if we don't get some of these players back that are injured the Wings won't be making the playoffs this year.They're tired man,the Wings have played the most hockey in the NHL since the 2005 season if I'm not mistaken.We have injuries to deal with and we lost a lot of depth in the off season.I think the Pens have a better chance this year.

Yeah, but we both lost some key players. Unfortunately, neither team is looking that great this year, we'll see. Its pretty much guranteed that the Wings and Penguins are playoff teams and anything can happen in the playoffs.

Nooo, that's not what I meant at all actually lol. I just mean that I was a huge wings fan when they sucked real bad and now that things are going well I'm really enjoying it, and I'm sure you feel the same way about the pens, they had some rough times too. This has nothing to do with finishing last on purpose, I'm aware of the lottery lol. I think everyone needs to just chill and enjoy hockey haha.

Ah, I see how you basically said "Your team tanked to get a #1 draft pick (Crosby) & then they got good".

Which means Penguins sucked on purpose to get a guy like Crosby, only problem is, they weren't guaranteed the #1 spot. It was a lottery

Ohh I've been a wings fan since the days of "the dead things" so I appreciate every year they contend, or even make the playoffs. Just like I'm sure you've been a long time pens fan and had to go through finishing real low in the standings before things got good lol.
