Wacky Wheels Gameplay

Hmm another good game from Apogee, I guess that's not a surprise a lot of good games came from them.
But in this case they were only the Publisher. The game was made by Beavis Soft.

Wacky Wheels is a very funny little racing game in the spirit of Super Mario Kart (which I never played) and it can definately entertain you for a while. Its full of humor, starting with the fact that you don't drive with human characters but rather escaped animals from the zoo.

And you are not driving on karts or cars but on tuned up lawnmowers (well ok they look like karts but in one of the selection menus it says Lee & Jackson Lawnmowers ^^)

You can pickup hedgehogs in all kinds of funny variants found on the street but in general they serve the same purpose...using them as ammo and throwing them at enemy drivers which make them turn around for a second and lets you overtake them. There are also other powerups you can use for example: an oilcan which you can use to make an oil spill (yay captain obvious :P ).
Or you can drop bombs which function as some kind of mines and as soon as someone drives into them they "turn around" and so on.

There are also different game modes and difficulty modes. Single player challenges, split screen modes and also Duck Hunt.

In Duck Hunt you drive around in some kind of arena and you have to shoot as much ducks as you can before the time runs out. There is also some special kind of duck which gives you more points then regular ones but you have to shoot them twice instead of once.

All in all a nice game.

@Telasro It's always hard to find someone selling old games like this. But in this case 3DRealms is still selling it on their official site.

Trust me, it´s better. Mostly because the music is cooler and the characters are cuter and cooler.

I think it is quite obvious which game inspired Wacky Wheels or Skunny Kart. Granted that you know about mario kart.
