@dethrockk That's all fine and good and I don't have a problem with that. However, how do you know what you do is right? If you give an answer to this, I'll know that at least you have an unbiased view with no hatred towards me and my beliefs, and can respect you for what you believe in.

Hello

This "monkey trial" was obviously a scam concocted by a small town with a failing economy in order to generate tourism and industry and it worked. This trial became the news of the day, bringing to Dayton famous people from all over the country. At the same time it opened up a platform for discussion on the validity of the state laws vs the US constitution; religion vs science.

@happymaskdude, first of all, keep in mind that Buddha is merely a symbol, a symbol of whwat we are capable of. Buddha has nothing to do with creation silliness and even wrote against it.
-
This happened when the US was still young. and this trial happens in Tenn. and at the time it was illegal, in that state, to teach Darwins theory.
-
There is nothing in the constitution or the Declaration of Independence that says Darwin cannot be taught in school because it is not a religion... and The United States of America was Founded on the separation between church and state not darwin and state

Buddah isn't a god just to clarify.
No one died for me as far as I'm concerned. The burden is on me to do the right thing because it is right. I don't believe I will be rewarded or punished. I don't lust for "streets of gold" and I don't fear a "lake of fire".

Actually religious people aren't really beign good because of a reward. They are good because of the punishment if they are not.
Stick works better than the carrot.
