Hotel California Solo (the Eagles) best version

This is the guitar solo to Hotel California by the Eagles. Classic song about the perils of fame, excess and the overwrought metaphor.

We are in the key of Bm and the progression goes: i-V-VII-IV-VI-III-iv-V. This solo is jam packed with lovely minor key country licks, with lots of slurred lines and little bends and slides that make the whole thing damn tasty. Don Felder and Joe Walsh's dueling guitars arranged here for one guitar, obviously.

I'd put this one in the beginner to intermediate category.

I'm using a Washburn Culprit with stock everything going into a Boss ME-50 (using the "Guv'nor" overdrive, a gentle phase and a smidge of delay), and into a Peavey solid state.

Beginner to Intermediate difficulty? More like straight intermediate....The notes themselves aren't too fast or difficult but mastering the bends and getting an overall perfect sound certainly requires a fair amount of experience and practice
