I was selected to play in the 43rd Annual North Dakota All-State Honor Band in 2009, where we performed this piece as our finale. It was composed by Henry Fillmore in 1929, edited by Frederick Fennell in 1979. I hope you enjoy! All comments are appreciated!

  • I am doing this for my All-County music festival tomorrow! I am first trumpet. :)

  • we're playing this at my high school :D

  • Good overall, but a bit rushed in my opinion......a conductor showing off? Articulations are not clean at this tempo, and has been noted, the upper brass double tongue technique suffers, having a sloppy 2nd and 4th 16th. Balance? The top heavy sound is probably due to the recording not the performance.

  • my american friends we make the muslim nations obey our western laws ,

the question is when should we bury allah in a grave ?

  • Aside from the fact that I prefer the original score to the Fennell version, this was done pretty well. The only comments I can give: the articulation throughout the piece was rushed and undefined (double-tongue needs definition). Not many intonation issues; only a few in low-brass and clarinets in the trio.
