@youcantubeittoo You can tell but the sprite scaling that it was not arcade perfect, but impressive for a 8-bit console at the time.

@youcantubeittoo thats cos it was the arcade version

Woah! That is amazing! Probably best port, better than the Genesis! Not as good as Sega Saturn, that was arcade perfect.

I remember reading about the PC Engine in new! computer Express in 88/89. It was defintely one of the most powerful consoles at that time. I wanted one! Thanks for posting this as I had only seen it in magazines before.

I really miss my TG-16. What sucks is I got so many games for my Turdo Duo, but no more Duo. I think I'll buy magic engine.

i doubt Out Run PC Engine/TurboGrafx came out in 1987 since NEC got a license from Sega in 1987 more likely it was released in 1990

It had an 8-bit CPU, although the graphics processor was 16-bit.

I compared this game side-by-side with the Genesis version. Though both are great ports, the Genesis version had cleaner graphics. Of course, the original arcade version looked the best. All three versions of the game had the same screen resolution: 320x224. I guess the only real difference between these versions is processing power and controls (Console controls were identical, but arcade had pedals and steering wheel)

The PC Engine version runs at 256x224.
