Djangos Hand 3of3

This is part 3 of 3 video clips showing a talk that I gave at a surgical conference in November 2009 on the subject of Django Reinhardt's hand injuries, and how his injuries influenced his musical technique. I was only able to record the audio of the presentation, but I've subsequently dubbed some still images from the conference, powerpoint slides and stock photos over the unedited audio track.

It's not my best performance as a presenter or musician, but hopefully the content will be of interest to a few hard-core Djangophiles out there!

Most of the biographic details and guitar techniques are familiar territory for many Django fans, but I've done a lot of research and used whatever evidence I could find to separate fact from fiction; and combined the musical, historical and medical details to hopefully give a new perspective on the musical genius that was Django Reinhardt.

Brilliant!! We really enjoyed your presentation. Especially the demo at the end. Mark particularly enjoyed your data on Django's hand dimensions...he's often wondered, and difficult to tell from just looking at the photographs...Nicely done!
