So, President James Monroe colonizing blacks to Africa and establishing the nation of Liberia (Which not only still exists today, but it's capital was named Monrovia) is perfectly A-Okay, but Lincoln feeling that the hate and ignorence of the nation at the time was so bad that colonizing blacks in another place was morrally right was absolutly horrible? Think people THINK!

I've heard of that book also, very controversial. He knew that end of slavery was just the beginning of the struggle for equal rights. An exodus for freed slaves was an option for the US government back then. But reconstruction was priority number one after the Civil War.

Wow there is a lot of hate and argument on here, not much respect for president Lincoln or the film. Lincoln was a great man and a great president. "Buzzard's guts, man. I am the president of the united states, clothed in IMMENSE power!"
