How about this: if you think you are better, then post a video on YouTube, let's see what you got! If you think you know someone who is better, then tell us who it is! "He sucks!" is just a useless opinion. "I'm better!" is just a baseless claim until you show us the evidence. Gadd's not my favorite drummer, the young Keith Moon (before he was totally stoned) is my favorite drummer, but both are way better than I am!

Interesting. Probably the most lively I've heard his drums sound. Usually they sound like tupperware stuffed with pillows. Good way to keep the crowd not only interested, but feeling like they're part of the clinic.
When he recorded "fifty ways" with Paul Simon, they certainly did "thud", but with Gap Mangione, they really have a nice ring. So what "usually" are you referring to?
He "usually" puts that god awful full muffle ring on his snare which chokes it to death. Plus, his toms sound like he's got Evans Hydraulics with more muffling added. At least from the late 70's to late 90's.
