I liked this short BBC documentary series about archaeological finds from the stone ages into the age of bronze. It is not so packed with cold information, but Neil Oliver does a pretty good job conveying a lively sense of meaning. The music by Ty Unwin helps, too. Good camera work editing should be mentioned as well.
(Just don't let the Bavarians know that it was actually one of their Beaker guys who went to Britain and showed it the way out of the stone ages into the age of bronze.)

  • I just love the music in this documenatry series. any idea how and where I can buy the music or just even get a glimps of it?

  • @Joakim2468 There doesn't seem to be anything available with these particular tunes. I'd love a specially arranged long-version medley thing...

  • Sorry, I haven't spoken, written or even heard German for quite a while and your English seems to be very good, so I thought it would be safer to comment in English.

  • @robsargent4 Danke, Englisch ist vollkommen in Ordnung.

  • I have to say I liked it too. There is actually a follow-on series starting at the end of the bronze age, but I'm not sure if it'll be shown on German telly. Come to think of it, how did you see this series? Did one of the German broadcasters buy it off the BBC?

  • @robsargent4 I'll definitely watch the coming series as well. Not sure if a German broadcaster would feature the series, except for arte tv, a cultural station that might run it in English with German/French subtiltles. Otherwise, it would be dubbed into German, and Neil Oliver would lose his Scottish- eh, charm :) Fortunately, we have satellite tv. However, I do discover most things via the Internet. Just saw that excellent BBC documentary from 2009 about the times of Krautrock …
