@TerrapinJoe1 personal tention. mostly Billy... i only saw "the dead" 3 times and i was in 6th grade. i was too young to appreciate it, i was bored and upset.. then somthing happened. i got into them... magic happened new years eve '09- '10. im a drummer myself so its a double bummer for me. ive been 15 furthur shows.. 3 "dead" shows.
No reason to call anyone a fucktard.. I've been to 46 Dead shows before 93 & I'll call em the Grateful Dead all day long doggie. It's not a contest so jump on the train & smile, or stay cool. You obviously have no idea because you probably show up to gas alley with 300 bucks & go home bruised up. Some folks got no clue. The band didn't die with Jerrry & he didn't own it. Just ask him. Peace :0)
@windsof630 Lets be honest... The dead was Jerry... he didnt like it that way, but it was.. whats kind of fucked up is all the interviews where they swore they would never play this music with jerry.
@TerrapinJoe1 I think they want to try something different than the ol ways.. but can I admit to something... I think life is a lot better without drumz/space... the show never loses its momentum.. I like the way furthur is doing it... and frankly Joe Russo is snappier... Billy and Mickey are fucking old.. they cant lay it down like they used to.. they drag ass. Joe on the other hand reminds me of billy circa 72-73
The Dead is better than all the other garbage out today, however Haynes is no Jerry. Further is much better with John K. from Dark Star. anyone know why the drummers don't want to play with him?
Hey the Grateful Dead were all very good musicians, but they were probably the most magical band in the history of modern music, I can't think of any other band that can say that.. All the deadheads know what I mean. Having said that, I have to agree, the magic isn't really there with the current lineup, BUT, they still do a decent show. We'll never get Jerry or Pig back, so we might as well enjoy what's left.
