This video makes it all easier to understand.
I just did my first cleaning with a breeze. After the fact, on the swab itself that I used I could see specs of the dust it removed!

This is a great tutorial on cleaning, i personally only have had to use the hama puffer, which is great!
Though i personally shoot lots of film, which is GREAT! because a new roll is always clean! And i wouldnt bother spotting for dust.

LOL my screen was dirty, and after the swabs, i thought it was still dirty as all hell, but then realised it was my screen, i LOLed

Your camera is a 1.6x crop factor so "Type 2" is the correct swab size for you.

im a newbie and i thought that paint brush is good to clean the sensor and resulted are smears and streaks on the ito coating, my question is, is this method will remove the smears cause by the paint brush?
