Neat stuff, I'm actually glad I stayed up to watch all six. (not necessarily so about a few of the side videos I caught along the way tho, lol) What was the deal with them saying he had 47 chromosomes early on though.. was that merely a mistake in test results and/or am I remembering something wrong?

Oliver looks more likely to have a genetic disorder of some sort, his face looks deformed and he can't keep his tongue in his mouth and the size and shape of his head looks like someone with some sort of special needs.

@dandsworld Problem: He's the only example of his kind known to us at the moment. What they could easily do though, is clone him: They have his DNA archived and they also have a live source of it.

It's not surprising that he wouldn't mate with a female chimpanzee. He will have been taken from his mother as a baby & have sexually imprinted on to humans.
Had he been left in the wild, he could have been a truely remarkable step in simian evolution. Oh well, perhaps in another million years?
It's absolutely shamefull the way the great apes, our closest relatives have been exploited in circuses, zoos & research labs. The misery these animals have been forced to endure for our entertainment.
