Yes, Bernardini ran a superb race. It would have been magnificent to have see him battling it out with Barbaro down the stretch. Sad that it didn't happen.

One can really hear the emotion in Dave Rodman's voice at :57; he's very upset at Barbaro's plight, and it still leaves a lump in my throat just listening to him. He's a terrific announcer and is my second (present day) favorite, after Tom Durkin, but it's a close call (pun intended) ^_^.

I think Bernardini is the perfect match for Zenyatta. Hope there foal turns into a champion maybe a triple crown winner or breeders cup classic winner like its mommy.
