Battle of the Bands.
This is the fourth out of four parts to our performance on May 24, 2008 at the Battle of the Bands.

Finally, after all of the adrenaline, I stun everyone with my voice (that has matured a lot since May 2007 http://youtube.com/watch?v=jnHAeuj1Zz ). This really topped off our awesome performance. It's the lyrically translated acoustic version; a double whammy. Enjoy to the fullest extent.

Note: We won the Battle of the Bands.

itaffy13 - Lead Guitar/Lead Vocals
Tyler McClellan - Drums
Peter Snarr - Bass/Backup Vocals
Nathaniel Douglas - Rhythm Guitar

And even when you try to change it around, like saying "myself" rather than "me" or saying "he was saying" from "he said"...you're forcing yourself to make the lyrics...inefficient I guess.

So to avoid awkward phrasing, awkward syllables, and losing the whole integrity of the song...

...just sing the song in Japanese, and briefly tell everyone in the audience what it's about, the story arc if there is one, something like that. You're not capturing the soul of the song when it's in Eng

  • I think the problem with translating all of these songs into English is that it really forces you to extend syllables awkwardly. It's because the translation doesn't take into account how exactly it's sung in Japanese - it's just the meaning. So you're left with trying to fill up syllable space with things like: "Kiiii-iii-ii-inndly." rather than "yasashiku."

  • that wars realy good man

    great job

  • well done!

    5/5
