@alif3000 Forgive my lack of specificity. I meant it contains no factual knowledge. From an anthropological perspective it contains knowledge of the mythologies that shape the cultural attitudes of those with those religious convictions. But it is not, as many would purport, a catalogue of basic truths about humanity, the universe, or the purpose of either. It is no more reliable in this manner than the hooting dance of an aborigine with a bone in his/her nose.

@Snakepliskinist Yet our Holy Book which you said does not contain any knowledge was translated and commentated (exegis?) by many western scholars. I have one commentary from a german scholar. Why would they waste their time in studying these? If it does not contain knowledge. Search on internet, libraries, bookshops of how many such works were done by western scholars. Some even converted to Islam after studying the Koran for years. Think about it...

@mystiekeziel Funny, you are the one who is fixated on who is wise and who is smart, etc. It seems like you are projecting your hang-ups onto me. While I can't speak for other atheists, I can say that I am stubborn in my refusal to believe things that are clearly untrue. BTW...I've been an atheist since I was a small child, and only heard of Richard Dawkins a few months ago when I started getting on youtube.
