  • donde quedo Superman?!

  • ok the big question I have I guess is this, how did it translate from "fly like superman" to "skinny dippin in the milky way"? Dont get me wrong I actually like the english version of skinny dippin ;) yet thats not what the artist meant. so how do you reconcile that? And more importantly does my colombian girl understand the skinny dippin part or the flying like superman part?

  • @edwinepperson Nevertheless, many forget that translation is a very complicated art. Hence why some meaning is lost in translation, furthermore, direct translation would not make much sense in the context of a different language.

  • When some singers try to reach some foreign musical market and sing their hits in another language the results sometimes are disastrous: The Carpenter's "Sing a song" ("Canta una cancion"), Linda Rondstand's "Blue Bayou" ("Triste Bayou"), ABBA's "Chiquitita" (Same title) or mexican Grupo Yndio's "Linea telefonica" ("Telephone line"), all of them sounds nasty.

  • @arivonflern si lo hablan, ahi un video onde joy le esta hablando a jesse en ingles.. i esta cancion lo conprueba, si no lo hablraran joy no cantaria como lo hace, se escucharia mucho el accento.como cuando rbd trato de cantar en ingless, se eschuba rarisimo

  • @edwinepperson it's not that it's not correctly translated, songs that go from language from another don't always make sense when translated 100% the lyrics always change and it almost becomes a completely different song.

  • I speak spanish and there are alot of incorrectly translated phrases for instance, its not "grab a bunch of solar systems, stuff them in a cookie jar" its, "take some stars and put them in a crystal box" and its not "skinny dippin in the milky way" but, "fly like superman" WAY OFF. But I do dig the song, "En espanol" and my girl thinks its a great song, I'd have to agree, "Viva La Colombia!"
