Just a quick, simple video to celebrate my new set of Stephens Design Vintage Lab 3 PAF pickups. They're amazing! Check out Dave's work at
www.sdpickups.com.
I accidentally wired them out of phase, during the crappy "solo" at the end you can hear the out-of-phase sound.

This was intended to be an "improved" version of the cover I did previously. In this video I use a free backing track with vocals included, so I don't need my clarinet anymore :)

Sorry for the audio quality, but this was recorded with a Canon camera which is better than my computer's buil-in mic anyways. Hope you'll enjoy it! ;)

UPDATE: It seems that the video has been put quite out of sync by some youtube updates, so please forgive that - even though it's not my fault.

Gear used:
- '95 Gibson Les Paul with SD PIckups and coil tapping (not used here)
- Orange Tiny Terror 15W tube head + cabinet equipped with 1X12" Celestion Greenback

Thanks to www.guitarbackingtrack.com for the free backing track (with vocals!)

  • Pretty good job!

Try to play an open G string simultaniously whenever you play the G,G,G, A# and the C on the bassriff after the A to A# chord slide during the verses.

Play it with the ringfinger of your picking hand together with the bassnotes being played by the pick.

Billy plays the A to A# slide live this way; the album version has both chords on the 5th and 6th position.

    Good voice!

  • @RLJKrijnen thank you for your kind suggestion! anyway... this was recorded over a backing track (i think it is the original song without the guitar track), and the vocals were not mine, i wish i could sing this way! ;)

  • Sounded pretty damn good and great playing too! Liking the Stevens Design pickups more by the minute.

  • @Slammintone thank you! if you want to hear some great tone from these pickups, check out my video "Tiny Terror & Les Paul clean sounds demo - Stephens Design Vintage Lab PAF". The amp is clean, so you can hear them better!

    Thanks for stopping by :)

  • Good job, I play a studio into a dsl-401, buy a tubescreamer ts-9 to add to the leads, geat volume and tone, unless you dont play in a band, no need .

  • @gblespaul actually I don't think I really need it, the amp itself is loud enough. I don't play in big gigs, BTW I always have my amp mic'd, and sometimes I can't go over 12 o' clock with the volume!
