Abby Martin of Media Roots captured an extremely tense standoff between the Oakland Police Department and the Occupy Wall Street protestors.

Things came to a head around 7:45 pm when the Oakland PD started throwing smoke bombs and tear gas canisters into the crowd completely unprovoked.

@mk3dubster Cops don't work to protect people, they work for their nice pay and pension, and the work is to protect property, not people. Police don't like common people, see them as mostly criminals, and actually enjoy hurting others. Of course this is generalizing, there are always exceptions. Cops are not on your side, just as in most nations, they work for those with power. They are with the 1%, let's not pretend. Those in the military are a different story, and ones who may support us.

All of those cops should be fired. Cops work to protect the people and the people were peacefully assembling. No violence or any reason to use riot force on innocent people. The Oakland PD and Sheriffs were the instigators here and therefore should be fired and reprimanded for this excessive use of force.....

I say "Occupy Obama's Street"!That's where the root of the problem is and that S.o.B. says that he "approves of the Occupy Wall Street Protests" because this has been his plan for these protests all along in order to impose Marshall Law on us (the U.S.).Then the N.W.O. & Police States will come then the FEMA Camps will take effect and so on and so forth!That's why he isn't doin' shit about ANY of this!He is enjoyin' every minute of it watchin' his evil plan unfold & actin' like he's "innocent".
